Types

Car Clinics are usually offered in four basic formats to suit different requirements of each client:

1. Quantitative Clinics: are of the standard “Car Clinic” format involving 100 to 300 respondents filling in self-completion questionnaires, which take up to an hour to complete. This type of car clinic involves from 3 and up to 6 cars on display

2. Qualitative Clinics: usually involve just two cars being displayed (most current and a replacement model). It involves inviting two or three groups of 10 respondents into an extended 3-hour study, for viewing and contrasting the models on display. Many various techniques can be used in the course of this study.

3. Test Drive Assessment: usually used to compliment the external and internal examination (previous tests). This involves a “Test drive” methodology: 30-40 respondents taking the car on the test for a 45 minute drive. Interviewer takes place in the car while the respondent is driving the car. This process may involve unstructured and semi-structured segments, which could be recorded for a later analysis.

4. Fly-in: is a service of recruitment for region-wide single-site car clinics. It involves recruitment of target respondents from each country within a chosen region for a two-day visit to the car clinics site, whether it may be within the region.
